Three New Carmelites Ordained Deacons

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Friday, August 18, 2017, at Thu Duc Parish, three Carmelite students have been ordained deacons by Bishop of Joseph Nguyen Tan Tuoc, Bishop of the Diocese of Phu Cuong. Three deacons are

Rev. Bro. Joseph Vinh Nguyen, O.Carm.

Rev. Bro. John Baptist Tinh Pham, O.Carm.

and Rev. Bro. Dominic Joseph Huynh Dinh. O.Carm.

All three are transitional deacons, meaning they are due to be ordained to the priesthood at a later stage. Deacons carry out most of the functions of a priest apart from celebrating the Eucharist.

Attended the Celebration, Fr. Michael Kissane, O.Carm. Provincial of the Province of St. Elias,  Carmelite Priests and brothers, priests and many friend religious from other Congregations.

Family members and friends of the new deacons traveled from  many places in Vietnam to attend the ceremony.

Congratulations to them and may they serve the Order and Church well!
