From January 3 to 6, 2019, fifty Carmelite pre-novices, novices, and professed students from the Province of St. Elias and the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, as well as a Discalced Nun from Baltimore, gathered at Whitefriars Hall in Washington, D.C. for the Carmelite Studies Program, Part II. The subject studied was “Leadership in the Carmelite Tradition” and the main presenter was Father Kevin Kennedy, a professor at Catholic University of America.
In addition to the workshop, there were opportunities for all of the Brothers from different countries and different formation programs to get together and share with one another, to pray with one another, and to build fraternal bonds within the Order.
On Saturday, Reverend Brother Gregorio Vazquez, O.Carm. (PCM) was ordained a deacon at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, along with a Capuchin Friar, in a beautiful ceremony.
The photos show some of these activities, as well as a picture of the pre-novices from St. Eliseus Priory and an overview of the entire group assembled. It was a weekend well spent!
